Dr. Liggesmeyer is a Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Science at the University of Potsdam and he is Head of the Software Systems Engineering II: Quality Management Department at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute for Software Systems Engineering (HPI), Potsdam. His research interests include safety and reliability of embedded systems, object oriented software development and quality assurance of distributed software systems. From 1993 to 2000 Dr. Liggesmeyer worked as a Project Manager at Siemens Corporate Technology in Munich, Germany. He received the diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Paderborn in 1988. Prior to joining Siemens in 1993, he was a research assistant at the University of Bochum, Germany, where he completed his doctorate in Electrical Engineering in 1992. Dr. Liggesmeyer has written 4 books and more than 50 papers.
