Opening the J2EE Black Box with PerformaSure: Identifying and Eliminating Performance problems for Java and J2EE

Presentation Abstract

Your team has been developing a critical J2EE-based system. When you deploy it, you find that it only meets 10 per cent of your capacity needs. You're not alone, and help is available. This talk will present approaches to ensuring maximum performance of these systems. It will look at how cross-functional teams can diagnose performance problems by looking at database performance, network effects, scheduling priority, and memory availability. It will then suggest remedies that might include adding memory or disk space, processors, or boxes, or making adjustments to scheduling priorities. It will also focus on the things you can do to avoid these problems in the first place, such as analyzing performance earlier in the development cycle, and later in the context of the full production and the production-mirror environments.
