The members of the QWE2002 Advisory Board selected the QWE2002 Best Paper Award, whose author(s) received a cash prize of $1000.
Best

Award
QWE2002 attendees voted for the QWE2002 Best Presentation Award, and the presenter was invited to give the same presentation at QW2002 in San Francisco, CA in September 2002.

Here are the QWE2002 Best Paper and QWE2002 Best Presentation Results.
This year the Advisory Board's votes resulted in a tie for first place and the Advisory Board recommended to honor two presentations as the co-Best Papers of QWE2002.

The Co-Best Paper Award, which carries a cash prize of $500, was awarded to Dr. Christian Bunse & Dr. Oliver Laitenberger (Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering, Germany) for their paper (8T) "Improving Component Quality Through the Systematic Combination of Construction and Analysis".

The Co-Best Paper Award, which carries a cash prize of $500, was awarded to Mr. Guillermo Pastor (INAD, Spain) & Prof. Antonio de Amescua (Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain) for their paper (12I) "Web Development: A New Quality Paradigm".

QWE2002 attendees cast their ballots and the QWE2002 support team totaled them during the final Plenary Session.

The Best Presentation Award, which includes a certificate and an invitation to present the same talk at QW2002, went to Mr. Michael Hillelsohn (Software Performance Systems, USA) for his talk (6M) "Using SPICE as an Internal Software Engineering Process Improvement Tool ".

Take a look at the QW2001 Best Presentation and Best Paper Results:

  • The QW2001 Best Paper Award, as voted by the advisory board, went to Mr. Nikhil Nilakantan (Hewlett Packard) & Mr. Ibrahim K. El-Far (Florida Tech) for their paper "Why is API Testing Different (4W1)".

  • The Best Presentation Award, as voted by the attendees, went to Dr. Linda Rosenberg (NASA GSFC). Linda will be presenting her talk, "Independent Verification And Validation Implementation At NASA (5P1)," at QWE2002, being held in Brussels, Belgium on 11-15 March 2002. Congratulations to both!
